Auction For the Animals

The 23rd annual Auction for the Animals was held on Friday, August 25th at the Ross Aragon Community Center. People enjoyed music by Tim Sullivan, a sit down dinner served by the High School Soccer Club, many silent auction items and live auction from auctioneer Ken Kincaid, and emceed wonderfully by Thad McKain. Co-chairs Evelyn Tennyson and Lauren Wolan-Zak put in many hours to help make the event successful. Ticket was drawn to our 1st ever Raining Cats and Dogs raffle. A big thank you goes to all of our volunteers who helped make the evening a complete success.

Raining Cats and Dogs Raffle

It will soon be raining cash for one lucky winner and the dogs and cats at the animal shelter!

HSPS announces its first ever "Raining Cats and Dogs Raffle". Raffle tickets are $100 each, and the lucky winner will receive one-third of raffle ticket proceeds. No more than 300 tickets will be sold. Dogs and cats are not known for their math skills, but the shelter animals did manage to figure out that if all the tickets are sold the winner will receive $10,000. Now that's something to bark and meow about!

Because of Colorado raffle rules and regulations, HSPS employees cannot sell raffle tickets. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce at 105 Hot Springs Blvd, Two Old Crows Gallery at 468 Lewis Street, and Spectrum Construction at 2035 Eagle Drive, Suite 111. Cash and checks only please. For out of town ticket purchases, please call Sandy at 970-264-5549 for assistance.

The raffle winner will be announced during the Auction for the Animals on August 25 and need not be present to win. Purchase your tickets today and make it rain for one lucky someone and the dogs and cats at the animal shelter!

Shelter Animals Count | The National Database ProjectThe participant badge signifies that HSPS is collaborating in Shelter Animals Count to create and share a national database of sheltered animal statistics, providing facts, and enabling insights that will save lives.

Lil' Bub
HSPS Receives ASPCA Grant

HSPS received a grant from the ASPCA Lil' Bub Fund to help special needs shelter animals. Lil' Bub is a special needs kitty that has become something of a YouTube star. She has teamed up with ASPCA to use her celebrity to raise funds for other special needs shelter animals. Over the past six months our grant money has helped pay for veterinary care for several special needs animals that entered the HSPS animal shelter. The special needs that were treated ranged from a mobility impairment requiring surgery, to treating injuries suffered in an accident, to a biopsy and surgery to remove cancer. Treating special needs animals can be expensive and taxing to an organization's budget. Our thanks to ASPCA and Lil' Bub for providing the financial support to bring treatment and healing to some special shelter animals with special needs!
